Books I’m Working On
Mercury Rests
Mercury Rests, the final book in the Mercury trilogy, is finished! This time, Lucifer has his sights on the destruction of Heaven itself. With Mercury MIA, only mild-mannered forensic analyst Jacob Slater and jaded but plucky religion reporter Christine Temetri can stop the Prince of Darkness from carrying out his diabolical scheme. They soon realize, though, that they are way out of their league. Will Mercury return to save the day once more, or will he be stranded forever in a strange land, a reluctant spectator of the Ultimate Ping-Pong Match at the End of Time? Find out in the most thrilling Mercury adventure yet!
Mercury Rests will be available by Fall of 2012.
Not Living Up to My Potential
Fans of my Mattress Police blog who read The Force is Middling in this One may have noticed that I left out a lot of great posts. Where, you may have wondered, are Human Inertia, His Excellency Lord Monkeyhands, and the cro-magnon denizens of Punta Gorda, Florida?
Fear not, friends. I deliberately left out most of the autiobiographical posts when I put together TFIMITO because I was planning to write another book, called Not Living Up to My Potential. NLUTMP will be composed of a combination of posts from Mattress Police and new material, and will follow young Rob Kroese through a seemingly endless series of failures and disappointments, culminating in the publication of Mercury Falls, a novel that his own mother-in-law was too embarrassed to recommend to the church library. NLUTMP will answer such questions as: How do you get fired from a job AFTER you quit? How is it possible to fail as a paperboy? How is working at Amway like playing Tetris? And most pressing, how do you get poison ivy on your genitals?
NLUTMP will be published in 2012.
Disenchanted
I’ve been working off-and-on for about a year on a novel I’m calling Disenchanted. Disenchanted is a tongue-in-cheek high fantasy epic that I’ve previously described as “The Lord of the Rings from the perspective of one of the Nazgûl.” I’m hoping to finish it in 2012.
Untitled Near-Future Sci-Fi Novel
I’m also plotting out a more serious sci-fi novel that takes place in California during an economic collapse. Hoping to finish this in 2013.
